Amen to that Hugh. Contrary to popular belief, I do believe in our Lord Jesus Christ. I know I ticked you all off! That's not what I meant to do!

I was raised by a Doctor of Philosophy (my mom) and have heard hundreds of points of view. She too believed in the Lord. At the same time, her job was to teach "open mindedness" and different viewpoints. This does not mean that she taught other sects or religion, just that the world is not just black and white.

Man did write the Bible. Have you found anything anywhere that says differently??? It was written through God's word but interpreted by man. Thus, there are many discrepancies within the Bible itself. Man's interpretation of God's word.

If you're Baptist you say you can't drink wine. Yet, at the Lord's supper HE served wine to his Disciples. The Lord turned water into wine for HIS people to enjoy...so, why does it say NOT to drink? All we can do is interpret the word of the Bible because again, man is not perfect. Your idea of the meaning of a quote may be totally different than the person sitting next to you. This does not mean that one is right and one is wrong.

Your LITERAL MEANING could easily be different from others. If you would like me to leave this group because I don't completely agree with you I will leave with no hard feelings.

Have you read the Gospels of Saint Thomas? These scrolls are thought to be the ACTUAL WORDS stated by Jesus Christ Himself.

I don't think the writings take anything away from the Bible itself...the quotes just add insight. You might find it interesting reading! Merry Christmas all!  God Bless You All! Deb

Do you hear a wolf at your door?  If you've fallen behind on your house payments, it's usually because of some major life change. Whether it is due to a divorce, illness, job loss or worse, circumstances can cause you to fall behind. When a trauma hits a family the automatic response is to throw our hoods over our heads and hide from danger. We are psychologically programmed to shut down and hold our fears and pain inside while smiling to the world. Remember that doing nothing may insure the foreclosure of your home.

Believe it or not, Lenders do NOT want your house!! 

Your Lender is NOT the big bad wolf that wants to take your house away! With the shift in our economy also comes a shift in "thinking" on your Lenders part. They actually WANT TO KNOW what's happening so they can possibly help.

EXAMPLE:  You and your family have lived in the same home for three years and paid for it in a timely manner. Your company implements a massive layoff. You have no job. You can no longer meet your bills. Something's got to give. What can you do? Where do you go? Not only have you lost your job, now you are worrying about losing your home! Where do you turn?

Turn to your Lender! Yes, that's right. Call them. Pick up the phone and contact them.

*DON'T wait till you fall behind.

*DON'T wait till you begin getting late notices.

*DON"T wait till you are three months behind to finally communicate with your Lender.

                                                                 *DO know that they want to help.

                                                                 *DO face the problem as soon as possible.

                                                                 *DO call your Lender.

The longer you wait the less options there may be. Please DON"T hide your problems from the Lender till it's too late to do anything. Make the call, explain your situation and let them help find a solution.

                                                                   You CAN keep your home.

Hi, this is my first meme and my name is Debra A Brooks. I am an only child born in Indiana and moved
to Texas at a tender age of 12. I really did think I was in the Twilight Zone. At the time, I was qualified and
training for the Junior Olympics in Breast Stroke and Freestyle Swimming. My life revolved around swimming
and the competition. As it turned out, my little Texas town had no City Pool or a Swim Team. (total bummer)
 

I loved listening to WLS Chicago because it was the progressive station that played Rock and Roll. My dad
helped me with my huge collection of Rock and Roll (yes, on vinyl) that disappeared from the moving truck
when we arrived in Texas. The only station I could get was the local "cryin' in my beer and singin' thru my nose
kind of country music".

My first Texas boyfriend came to visit me on his HORSE. We considered it our Texas Limousine.

I really thought I had died and gone to the WRONG place. Five years later we traveled in a car across the border of Mexico and got married.

I never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the chandelier! My elevator didn't make it to the top floor!

I grew up and had two wonderful children, not just one husband (I'm a handful) and contrary to your possible belief, am not related to Garth Brooks.

Although, when I was living in Dallas, Texas and working to raise my two children, I had the pleasure of meeting Garth and traveling with the Garth Brooks Band for quite some time. That is a story unto itself and probably a series.

For many moons I worked for JMB Corporation out of Chicago. I was the North Central Director of Marketing and
loved every minute. I was in charge and responsible for 4200 apartment units in Texas, handled the
hiring and training of our sales reps and taught training seminars. I won top sales person in the Nation in 1988
which got me started with my love of Real Estate. I moved on to help form a company that was created as a
"corporate advertising creative support group". Our name was Show Works, Inc. and we worked with high tech
companies and I had a ball.

Bottom line is, all my X's live in Texas and I do too! My husband, Scott Brooks is the love of my life and
we are both happy working together in our Real Estate business. Our business is brooksprimeproperties.com
Together, we have 7 grandchildren! We love our lives and follow the Christian word.

I've just gotta tell ya. This Active Rain site is too much! I'm getting drunk on all the Google juice I've been getting!

The blogs I read here are totally invaluable resources to myself and all of us. I think we should call it
Active Rain...The Real Estate Brain! My philosophy to this term is layers deep. Maybe I'll write about it.

WE ARE NOT SENIORS! They just graduated from high school! We were all sitting down for a family dinner and the question came up, "do you want to be considered a senior citizen?" Noooooo was the reaction! Our parents were Senior Citizens. We lived through decades of change with our lives entertwined and hands on!

*We  watched the assassination of John F. Kennedy! The Cuban Missile Crisis prevented world war III.

*We watched the first man on the moon (okay, that's yet another subject).

*We watched our African American Citizens join the ranks of equality.

*Dwight D. Eisenhower ended the Korean War and continued The Cold War.

*We watched the African/American Civil Rights Movement.

*We watched our men and innocent families with children murdered in Vietnam and we still ask why?

*We watched one of our favorite actors, Ronald Reagan become President of our United States and finally end the Cold War.

 *We watched the removal of the Berlin Wall.

*We watched the implementation of NAFTA, our North American Free Trade Agreement.

*We watched Clinton make a mess of his marriage and the country. Okay, that's my opinion...

*We watched the 2001 terrorist attacks and are still witnessing the aftermath. 

 *We watched President Bush deliver his State of the Union address on January 23, 2007. Off we went to war.

*We watched our son and many other young men and women leave for Iraq to defend our country.

*We are in the HERE and the NOW. We have been THERE and done THAT.

*We are America's newest CEO'z. We've been there from A to Z. We are Citizens Energized and Optimized! We have watched our country survive and flourish through many of its twists and turns. We are savvy to the WWWeb and its magic. We are strength within our government and are raising children to follow in our footsteps. We are the backbone and foundation of our USA. We have earned the right to be called CEO'z.
